In Ngara, a man was arrested
by the public and beaten thoroughly before he was handed over to the police for
attempting to rape an 18 year old girl and stabbing her.
The girl is said to have been at her parent’s home watching TV
when the neighbor accosted her. The man was armed with a knife and he stabbed
her on the head as he attempted to rape her.
Neighbors said they suspect that the girl resisted and a
struggle ensued and that’s how the accused stabbed her on the head.
Witnesses said they heard screams and a scuffle and found the
man struggling with the girl as he tried to rape her; they caught the man trying
to escape through the home’s window and beat him severely before mechanics at a
nearby garage strapped him with ropes handing him over to police.
The girl was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where she is
recuperating. Medics say she is in a stable condition considering the depth of
the cut and that she had lost a lot of blood from the cut.
